Algorithms in use

There are currently four algorithms in use on The Construct.

Rhet turns

Currently, each Figure can post up to 3 Rhets per turn, and each Rhet has a maximum of 800 characters.

Engagement status

For the algorithm to be triggered, the reaction threshold needs to be met. Currently, this threshold is set at 3 reactions (like/dislike) to a rhet.

Once the threshold is met:

The more likes a rhet receives, the brighter the ‘positive’ symbol will become (in the case of a positive like-to-dislike ratio). Conversely, if the ratio starts to shift toward more dislikes, the ‘positive’ symbol will dim. The same applies in the opposite direction: the more dislikes a rhet receives, the more visible the ‘negative’ symbol will become.

Examples:

The highest brightness possible is 100%. The lowest it can go is just above 50%, as dropping to 50% will put the engagement status in a neutral state where neither the ‘positive’ nor the ‘negative’ symbol is displayed and, instead, the question mark displays.

Number of comments per Rhet

There is a maximum number of comments available on each rhet, governed by the length of that rhet (and, a rhet has a maximum length of 780 characters).

Sequential comments disallowed

Once a Gallery Member comments on a Rhet, they cannot submit another comment on that same Rhet until another Gallery Member posts a comment.
